I've found that during this season, I am going to focus more on just trying to run a mile rather than a long distance run, because that takes up more time that I might not be able to find. It's important to continuously remind myself of the health benefits of exercise. 4 years of college and my current profession, I know these things without a second guess, but sometimes it's important to remind ourselves. Aside from losing weight, exercise has such a positive impact on our lives...
- Exercise improves mood- brain chemicals are altered to increase happiness and relaxation but also can improve confidence and self-esteem.
- Exericse boosts energy
- Exercise decreases chance of health problems and diseases
- Exercise promotes better sleep
I wish I had the ambition you do, having a staff calling in two days in a row, school work keeping me busy and having to go back to work Monday makes me exhausted, You keep up the good work and I will be jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteI have just really started working out again myself. It is hard between all of my daily requirements to always find the time, but your right...remembering the results is a key role. Good luck with your games and the mile. You got this!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post reminded me that I really do need to get back to working out and that I can't say I don't have the time to do it, I just need to make the time. Also the benefits you listed are all so true, and I remember when I was exercising 4-5 times a week really made me feel better.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and information Steph. I need to exercise everyday for my mental health and my brain craves the endorphins. My new pup gives me a reason to get out in the morning and get it done. I go after school too because a tired dog makes for a happy owner. Today it was misting, foggy, and dark but I knew he needed a walk, so we went on our 30 minute jaunt. Keep moving. Stacy
